Look I'm not much of a writer so you came to the wrong place for a big description about the pieces I am showing on my blog. But I had to share this shop with you, and the others to come.

They are called JustWorks, located in Vancouver, I'm not sure if that's Vancouver Washington or BC but, hey, they do fabulous pieces. I picked 3 but they have stunning, rustic pieces in their shop that you or anyone would be happy to have. I would so enjoy the 'HOPE' mug every morning sipping my morning Jo from. And the platters are simply gorgeous with the little detail, many great uses for these pieces. And when they are not in use hang them on the wall or display them in the living room. Just keep them out to show them off!

I had to share a recent brides custom order. I love how it turned out. She chose different earrings for herself and everyone in the bridal party. She did a mix of Swarovski Pearls in Creamrose, Creamrose light, Jet/Black, Swarovski Clear Crystals, and Bright or Oxidized Sterling Silver finish. I just love how elegant each piece looks by itself, but even better when you put them in a group together like this. One of her bridesmaids ordered the pearl, crystal ribbon necklace in the creamrose light pearl, clear crystal and the black ribbon.

Jewelry Custom Order: Pink Cluster Necklace

Pictures from Addison's Birthday Weekend

OK so I am not a baker...and I didn't want to just get a cake from the grocery store...so here is what my creation ended up looking like...Messy and Good! I do have to give Brian credit for making the cupcakes. I did take the paper decoration idea from Creating Keepsakes magazine. I just put my own twist on the whole idea.

Here she is 1 year ago...Today my baby girl turns 2 years old! Looking back at these pictures you can see how much hair she has grown, how tall she has grown, how beautiful her smile has grown...she amazes me everyday...she is a joy to watch, the things she does, the things she says...for instance just yesterday she was sitting at the table eating yogurt and she had gotten some on her shirt sleeve and the chair. When I came over to wipe it up, she said, in her sweet little voice, 'why, why, why', which is usually what I say. Pretty funny! Maybe I can get it on video and post it. It was a pretty funny thing, especially when she was able to say it at the perfect moment. Now when I say it to her she repeats it and giggles!

We had a great time at Nani's Annual Halloween Party, Bryson's School Party, and at cousin Krista's Halloween Party. It's amazing their costumes stayed in good condition for the parties.

Custom Bridal Order

I had to share these photos of a recent custom bridal order I completed for a customer who contacted me via my Etsy shop. I love how they turned out, luckily she did to! So, now I need to find more of the smaller freshwater pearls so I can offer them on my site. How do I design my creations?

I've been asked this a few times, and I realized I get my inspiration from so many things. It's hard to summarize. I might see a bead, a color combination, a page from a magazine, read up on some of my favorite blogs, see other artists creating and producing; these things just get my creative juices flowing. I can stay up late into the night with a fresh pot of coffee, and I have to force myself to go to bed.

Like anyone shopping for their favorite things, I get so excited browsing the endless pages and websites of beads and bead supplies. And there are always new items to look over. Believe it or not each bead is different, in shape, color, texture, size, and function. Most of the time I buy beads because I like the look of them, it's not until I am sitting in front of my work space that I actually figure out what I am going to use them for. And even then it might take me a few times of pulling them out and matching them up with other beads in my collection before they are actually used in something.

Take for instance a bracelet I was working on the other night. I had bought these really cool Swarovski Hexagon Clear Crystals with a top hole, I knew I wanted to use them in a bracelet, but originally I purchased them to maybe use as charms on a necklace or in a pair of earrings. Well, I thought they would look great strung on with clusters. So, after about 3 hours that took me into the wee hours of the early morning...I finally had my finished project...now I just hope someone likes it as much as I do; ha, ha. In my eyes it turned out gorgeous...but that is just me talking. I just love the white Swarovski Pearls, Blue Chalcedony, and the clear crystal hidden in the back ground. It's a pretty thick bracelet, but so gorgeous. I will have it posted sometime this next week. I haven't taken any pictures of my new items. So, at this time you can only imagine what I am talking about.

There are so many things that inspire me and motivate me to dig in and create something, whether it be a whole collection or just one piece. I just know that I am doing something that I truly enjoy and it is just an added bonus that some else likes my creations enough to spend their hard earned money on them.

So, unless it is a custom order, most of the time I am just creating on the whim.

Custom Bridal Order

I was contacted by two Maid of Honors for the same wedding, via my Etsy shop. They decided to go with different earrings. Here is one of them...she liked the style but wanted different colors. The original pair of earrings was Amethyst, Brown, and Silver Freshwater Pearls, so we changed it up a bit and added the Pink Jade Faceted Rounds, Swarovski Brown Pearls, and more Smoky Quartz Faceted Rounds. Long week-

OK - I have to admit that after Blissfest I was pretty tired, but then at the last minute I decided to participate in the East Valley Art Guild Art Walk. I met some pretty amazing artists. I consider my jewelry business my hobby. I love to make jewelry, whether as a business or not, I would be making jewelry. It's just what I do...so when you met people who paint amazing pictures and when you talk to them and they can tell you all about them. It's pretty darn cool! I met a lovely couple that helped me with my lighting for the night. I do not have the postcard in front of me, but when I do I will give you all her info and you will need to stop by her site to look at her amazing paintings! And believe me they were such a friendly couple. It was great to meet them.

The Blissfest was a great event. I can't get over the cupcakes- the cake walk. So, I have decided to make cupcakes for my daughter's birthday. I want to make those really big ones! Fall Blissfest, Mesa Arizona Tomorrow!

All right, the last night to finalize everything and drink lots of coffee tomorrow!

Very excited- I made quite a few pieces this past week. I am really looking forward to tomorrows event!

I guess you could say I am really tired...I just want to make something new for me to wear tomorrow. The car is packed and I am heading up to bed.

A sweet friend of mine hosted a home jewelry show yesterday and I just wanted to say a Big THANK YOU!!! The turn out was great, the food was so yummy! and everyone left with some new gems for themselves or gifts for others. It was great to see ladies who had attended the last home jewelry show my friends had.

I will be very busy this next week making new items for the upcoming show. I will try to post pictures of the new goodies that will be available this coming weekend at the Fall Blissfest in Mesa, Arizona.

Halloween Scrapbook Page Kit for Devine Memories

So, I had a first...some of you know that I am on the Devine Memories Scrapbook Design Team...well, one of the last challenges I had was to do a page kit. If you are unsure what that is...you buy a kit that has all the pieces along with a photo to show you the end result...you take it home and assemble it. You still get all the fun of making a page and adding your own pictures, without having to come up with a theme...I'm sure your asking why it was a challenge...try walking around the store trying to come up with an idea that is appealing to everyone, and that you can't layer the photos, that you can make 10 times over. I struggled. But if you click here you can see the completed kit on the Devine Memories Website. This month I am part of the 3 person challenge...3 people from the design team receive the same kit and come up with their own ideas on what the end result will be. If you browse through any Creating Keepsakes Magazine, they have a section in there doing the same thing but they can only use the supplies given to them. We have the option of adding what ever we want, and I think we each received one item different.

Better get going, have a private jewelry show starting in a few hours.

More Custom Bridal Jewelry Orders from this past Summer 2008

This Bridal Jewelry set is actually from earlier in the summer. The bride was interested in Bridal Earrings Style #E226B08

They were originally in a white and pink, but we changed them out using the creamrose light pearl in the earrings and the necklace. The Bridal Necklace is a custom piece but she had chosen Bridal Necklace Style #60BN We worked closely with the bride to create a piece that would fit with her dress style and color. And any changes that the bride preferred compared to the original design.

There will be more examples of this summer's Custom Bridal Orders posted later this weekend. I've been getting ready for some of the events that I have or will be attending in the next month or so. I know they won't start until the back half of the month, but I have to get my time in where I can! LOL!

Custom Order - Featured Bridal Page

Here is one of my recent Custom Bridal Orders. The Bride had contacted me after browsing through the bridal pages, not quite finding what she wanted. But, she knew it was there somewhere. So, I designed this piece and she choose earrings, and we designed a bracelet to match.

The bride choose custom pearl color for her bridesmaids earrings and necklaces. She choose Swarovski Color 'Powder Almond' for the pearl color. And we also used smaller pearls in the necklace.

This is a perfect example of custom orders. I love to mix and match bridal pieces from the collection. By just changing out the color of the pearls, it gave the necklace a completely different look. You must remember that I offer the 5 stock colors, but Swarovski offers so many pearls and crystals, that the combinations possibilities are endless.

Fall Blissfest in Mesa, Arizona

I'm really blessed to be apart of this event. And I would love to help spread the word about the cause behind the annual event for this year. Read below for more information.

Kristin and Dan Alber, owners of Domestic Bliss in Mesa, Arizona, will be holding a fundraiser for the Nielson Family during their annual Fall Blissfest, Saturday, Oct. 18, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (I believe the time has changed) Read more about the Nielson Family by clicking on the banner to the right. Raffle tickets will be sold for $10 each or three for $20. All funds raised will go to the Nielson Recovery Fund. Another Scorpion Sighting!!!

Would you want these two cuties to get bit? We try to protect them every way possible, and maybe it's just me trying to come up with every excuse in the book to move back to the NW. I don't know. It is so hard to stay on track, when we've had 4 sightings in the past couple of weeks. How creep is this...I was in the laundry room sorting clothes, and I heard this weird scratching noise, and the first thing I did was look up at the vent and then thought to myself, the air isn't on...it sounded like a tree branch scratching on a window. Then, as I'm standing over my washer, I look directly above me and realize it is in the light, right above my head. Even now when I am writing this, I get the heebeegeebees! Then the next week after I have walked bare foot into my bathroom my husband tells me there is one in front of his dresser. Then the next day he was emptying the garbage, in the garage! Well, garage ones don't really count, but in my book they do! So, yesterday I was swiffering the living room and my kids were running from the kitchen to my daughters favorite corner, by the front window and back again, they did this about 3 times, all of us barefoot. I thought I saw something on the floor, and when I moved the chair I saw a baby one, very active! and luckily it had been a week since I had last swiffered, because it got caught up in all the dust that came flying of the swiffer, by the way, Swiffers are not made for killing scorpions! The top came flying off, I thought I broke it. So, I had to get the kids out of the room and run into the laundry room to get a shoe to smash it. Still trying to keep my barefoot kids out of harms way! So, now I am still on edgy- I wish sometimes I could drink every day! It just makes me so nervous. I have never been around anything in my whole life that can come from no where and just the wrong move- bam! I mean the worst thing I can remember growing up in the NW is the big ugly spiders from the old house we lived in. There was this dark closet right next to my bedroom door and it didn't have doors on it. I would run by that thing so fast because the stairway/hallway light would be out. I would run into my bedroom so fast to turn on the light. So, to solve the problem around my house I have been trying to talk my husband in to letting us get a cat. I'm working on him. He still seems to think I will make him clean the kitty litter box. I keep explaining to him, that the reason I didn't do it before was because I was pregnant. Things are different now!

Here are some lovely pictures of my daughter during our lately late night hangouts! Notice her PJ's...You can't miss them! Her daddy picked them out. She has a too small tee on, her brothers old PJ bottoms and her brothers socks (scorpion footwear protection). No we are not dressing her up for football, or pre Halloween costume, no she got into mommy's make up bag from my handbag and decided she knew how to put on mascara!! On her cheeks. And she spilt her apple juice twice down her shirt. Does she look sleepy to you? She kept coming up to the camera after I took a picture, because she had to see what I had taken. Then she would walk back to the cabinets and stand there until I took another picture. In the mean time, she kept spilling her apple juice on my recently mopped kitchen floor, followed by an ut,oh. Oh the joys of motherhood.

My New Canvas Project! 'The Gardens'

My husband and I have been going back and forth about art work for a few places in the house. A few years ago, he decided to take a flying leap...and bought tubes of paints and some paper and decided to try his 'skills' at painting. Well, the canvas and paper ended up in the garbage...he claims I said something...not true! You should see the two huge canvas paintings I did in college...my parents have them hanging in their garage...need I say more. So, I decided it was my turn to put my foot out there. And yesterday, my son and I decided to get the paints out while Addison was sleeping. My husband came home when I had just started adding the paper around the edges. And I told him, I don't know why I painted the canvas, except I remember my Painting Instructor from college telling me to never start with a white canvas. So, underneath all the glitter, glue, paper, flowers, pins, chipboard, rub ons, distressed ink, brads, and ribbon, there is red, brown, and tan paint. So, if ever the thing decides to fall apart...it will still be pretty! So, I have decided to give you a sneak peak, because tonight when I took the pictures, they didn't turn out very well, and I will try again tomorrow. And I am not finished yet. I still want to add a big hanging bow on the top! So, for now here are a few or more pics of the up close detail of the canvas board called 'The Gardens'.

I also have one more canvas to do. I bought my paper at Devine Memories. And I bought all the paper offered in the series. So, this one has a botanical garden theme, the other is going to have a roaring 20's theme. Which while I was making this one, I was pulling out things for that one.

Yes, so last night I decided I didn't want to go to the gym. So, my husband and son went while my daughter and I went on a walk around the loop. Well, I put her in the stroller and we headed out. Everything seemed fine until we started heading back and my daughter wanted out of the stroller. So, I said OK, like I had a choice in the matter. She was doing really well, but then I noticed we were being bit by mosquitoes everywhere. So, now as I am sitting here updating my blog roll I am itching everywhere! I tried to get my daughter back in the stroller so we could jog home, but that didn't work, and when I made her get in and I ran about a block and half, she was practically hanging out the front doing a nose dive to the sidewalk. Oh, and screaming- so not only was I trying to keep the mosquitoes off of us, I looked like I stole the child in the stroller. I'm a terrible parent. I did have water, cellphone, keys, food, hat, sunglasses, books and toys for my daughter- yet no bug repellent. I figured we would be moving the whole time.

I can't wait for this weekend to start...I was suppose to be heading up to Alaska this afternoon, but the trip got cancelled. So, it is the first weekend in a long time that we do not have to be somewhere. I'm so excited, I am going to update my web page, fill some orders, post pics from custom orders.

Here it is!!! I don't actually have it in my hands, but I know I am in here. Because why, I read it here! I called around to some stores last night and I guess it's not even out yet! So, I have to stay patient and wait to get it from the Fedex this next week! Oh, in case you hadn't read one of my previous entries, I am the Designer Highlight in this magazine!!! So this is really cool! I'm not sure if you have had a chance to browse through Etsy.com and see all the wonderful stuff there...but they have this thing called the Treasury, where other artists can promote other artists in a Treasury, so the come up with a theme or what ever they feel like sharing with the rest of the world...so it's really cool when some one picks your creations to be in their Treasury, but it's really cool and a bonus when the people of Etsy pick the Treasury with your item in it. Custom Picture Frame Charm Necklaces

I thought I would share this special order with you. I love how they turned out. The customer had these made up for a friend of hers. She emailed me the pictures and we cropped them down and then made them black and white, added the initials, and little crystals in the corner.
It's incredible how many options there are for this type of thing. I don't advertise that I make these, but I have made ones for fun for myself with my kids and I added a Swarovski Crystal Heart Charm. I love the idea of adding the crystals with in the charms and having them hang from a sterling silver chain instead of the beaded one that they usually are worn on. She really made this a precious special order.

Designer Highlight in Bead Trends Mag Sept/Oct 2008

OK- I am having really strange dreams lately- I'm just really excited about my good news that I haven't announced until now...drum roll please....I am going to be the featured jewelry designer in the magazine, Bead Trends, the feature is called, 'Designer Highlight'. You get a 10 page spread of 5 sets up jewelry. I am so excited. I made new pieces for this, but my work is ever changing, by mood or bead or whatever inspires me at the moment to make jewelry. I just can't wait for the Fedex guy to show up with my box! I already have one of the bracelet and earrings sets sold. I had a dream or nightmare is more like it, and I got my box and my jewelry was gone and there were only broken beads and the box with shredded up. So weird what your mind will make up!
The store I use to work at for most of my life, is having their anniversary sale, and I keep having this dream where I get hired back on and things are crazy and I'm there to get things organized, and there all these people there who were my store managers, mentors and sales associates from when I first started. I told my dad I had my 5th one the other night and he corrected me and said, 'Isn't more like a nightmare?'. YES! I don't want to go back to work! I really enjoy staying home with my children, well most of time, I love making jewelry and I do have to admit, I don't like the housework!
So, I will keep you updated when my package arrives. I'm headed over to Etsy to see what fun goodies I can find. I might just post about them later.

Monday Night's Diamond Backs Game - My Famous Family

OK- these are just few pictures of my husband, son, dad, and brother; who all attended the game on Monday night. They had great seats 10 rows up from the field behind the Diamond Back's dug out. So, with these awesome seats- came some perks!

My brother on TV at the end of the game they started showing a bunch of people who had cheered throughout the game- and I was able to pause the TV to take a shot, and there on the right is my dad and my husband.

Here's a cute picture of my two guys!

And now for the best part....My son on top of the dug out during the 7th inning stretch singing 'take me out to the ball game'! Yes! He got up with another little boy. I couldn't believe it when my husband told me. My son is normally so shy! On the Thursday before he got up in front of a few hundred parents for his Club Pee Wee performance. We were so proud of him, not only did he sit up there and sing he did the hand movements and everything! So, at the game he got up there and sang his little heart out! He had been practicing all day. He had learned the song during his class Apple to Zebras. It was just great! I wish I was there- they do not show the 7th inning stretch on TV.

New Oxidized Fashion Earrings- A Vintage Look

I love what a little patina does to sterling silver! I know I can't change all my jewelry pieces to this look- but it's great to offer it. I made these earrings over the weekend and just love how they turned out. I had shaped each of the wire loops except for the hoop earrings. I have listed them all at my etsy shop, and I will have them on my website very soon. I just am so excited about them! You can dress them up or where them with t-shirt and jeans! Fruits & Veggies from Bountiful Baskets!

OK- so is your mouth watering? I have to share my photos with you. I highly recommend doing this if you live in the area! It's so easy! Check out the pictures of the beautiful fruits and veggies! Like I said before, it's like a grab bag- you don't know what you are getting, but you know it will be good! I made pica Di Gallo with my tomatoes, lime, onion, and cilantro. I love having my banana a day! And I would have never picked up a mango at the store, yet we got 4 of them, and I am going to make them in my morning smoothies!
Here is the list of items:
8 Tomatoes, 8 limes, 2 huge bunches of cilantro, 1 lb carrots, 6 potatoes, 8 red onions, 4 white nectarines, 4 plums, 6 pears, 4 cucumber, 1 melon, 4 mangoes, 5 bananas, and 1 butter lettuce all for $15.00!
Better get going. This is my second time doing this- I just have to encourage others to join in. I even ran into my friend Cathy- who I didn't know was doing it! How funny is that! So, to date, I know two of my sister in laws, my sister in laws mom, myself, my friend Cathy, and possible my neighbor. Oh, and I did pick up two of the loaves of bread- they are great with dinner! I added a new link - the food network- so it will be really easy to look up recipes to use the wonderful fruits and vegetables you get in your baskets!

Tomorrow is Saturday! And I am so excited! It's Bountiful Baskets Morning! I can't wait to get my basket of healthy goodies! If you live in the area, I highly recommend signing up! It is so well organized and they make it so easy, why not do it. When I receive all my goodies 2 weeks ago, the veggies were perfect and ready to use- the fruit was perfect and needed a few days to ripe. Which was great because we were able to eat them slowly.
