Bountiful Baskiets

Well, it was our first Saturday participating in the Bountiful Baskests, and fortunately for the family, we will be signing up every Saturday they offer it!!! It was the neatest thing! And so well organized! It's like a grab bag, where you know that the items will be good no matter what! Now, I have never made eggplant anything, but I did go through a few of my cookbooks looking for recipes. And I'm sure I could check out some websites. Also, I got beet, not that is another veg...that I have never cooked with- so I will keep you updated. Better get going my daughter needs her nap.

Beading/Crafting Work Spaces

I have been thinking about doing this for awhile, so here it is...I just haven't wanted to because it's never clean or organized. But, I figured out tonight that it will never look clean and organized because I am always working on something. So, here are some pictures of my work space.

My wonderful husband made this awesome work space for me up in our loft. I have been working in the office and kitchen for years now and each time I have to clean up everything. Then my beads would sit on the island or on the table for days and weeks. I still have a few places around the house that I stash my stuff, but one day I might be able to build some cabinets below that will hold the rest of my ever growing craft supplies!

So, I was looking at the Bead Trends website and look what I found! Unfortunately, I am not in the magazine this time around...but I am in the next one! So, I hope everyone runs out an picks up the latest issue of Bead Trends Mag 2008! I can't wait to get my hands on a copy- there are always great jewelry and artists bios inside!

My Chaiken Party Dress & I found some shoes!!!

In July we are heading out to San Diego for a vacation and a 90Th birthday party for my husband's grandmother- Nani. I bought a dress by Chaiken seen in the picture, but up until last night I was trying to figure out what shoes to wear. I mean, it's not like I am going to be able to leave the kids at home for the party. So, I heels are out of the question! I was looking at a lot of flat styles, and I didn't want to be too plain or casual. Last night my mom called from the mall, asked if I wanted to meet her there. So, I packed up my daughter and we headed over to the mall to do some damage! It was just us girls- and wouldn't you know it, we never left Nordstrom! I bought 3 pairs of shoes including the ones in the picture. And some clothes. For my daughter, we bought her a new pair of pink sandals, not that she needed another pair of pink sandals, but these ones will be better for her feet and they have hearts on them! So, to go with all that sassiness on the feet, we had to get her some matching heart shaped sunglasses! She was just Miss Hollywood! It was funny, my niece was over at my parent's house this weekend, and she had on her heart sunglasses and painted toe nails- she'll be 2 in July! So CUTE! I don't think my daughter would sit still long enough to get her toenails painted let alone drying time!

So, now back to my outfit! Not only am I excited about wearing the ensemble, but I have been loosing weight finally so I can fit right into it! Now all my clothes that I have bought over the past couple of months have been feeling quite loose! I just have 14 more pounds to go. My hips and stomach finally decided to let some go! It's so hard after having kids, you have to wait around for your body to finally say, 'Hey, I'll throw you a bone!'.

Photo Light Box & New Etsy Banner

I feel like I have had a full day and I want to work through the night...but it's just after midnight and I'm pretty tired. But, I wanted to post about some changes I've been making to my Etsy shop. After the fun critique session- I redid my banner, it only took 3-4 times, but I like this new one. And I made myself a photo light box and tested it out tonight and am really proud of the pictures. I do need to make the light box bigger, but just seeing a difference in the photos makes me think all my hard work is totally worth it. I'm sure you will agree!

This is one of the necklaces I worked on last night. I couldn't sleep after the critique session so I just started making more jewelry. It's just what I do. Oh, and another thing, I worked with my camera to get the settings correct. But, it's always a work in progress. But, I wrote the settings down for this particular set up.

Well, I think my whole collection of jewelry is calling- and now I have this photo light box that I have to store somewhere. Hmmm, I'm thinking I need a bigger space...one of these days I will share my designing area. Remember I try to multi task in my design area.

I just thought of something, my son kept asking if I was making a house tonight. I had paper, tape, fabric, a box, cutting tools- of course that is what I was making! LOL!

The Etsy Community

I sent the evening on an Etsy Lab. It was so awesome! I have never done anything like that before. A gal named Michelle was the hosting admin. She was awesome! She worked so hard, she was out of New York and it was late there, along with the fact she did not take a break. She was still going when I signed off. And the whole community, the people who were in the Etsy Lab, kept it light and fun. I really appreciate the advice and the encouragement that I received from everyone in there. I did some changes to my site over there. I still need to work on my photos.
I'm not sure if anyone has noticed on my website, The Beautiful Garden Boutique, I took out some items that had really bad photos. I have even tried to retake the photos or do some updated editing.

Well it's getting late and I have a lot still to do. I am making my Father's day cards, and I am working on my entry for Devine Memories Design Team.

Bridal Jewelry Contest Winner

I just wanted to share the post that the first Bridal Jewelry Giveaway Winner had on her blog about her experience and her jewelry selections once she received them. I just thought it was a wonderful post. I mean customer comments are the best! Her blog is called 'The Wishes and The Glitches' She had pictures and comments about the jewelry for all her visitors to read and view. I thought that was so sweet. Quiet Early Morning Hours

I just love waking up early in the morning when the sun is just coming up, the house is quiet and you can hear the birds chirping from every room in the house. I just poured myself a cup of coffee and thought I would start digging into my Devine Memories Design Team Contest entry. I have been working on it a little bit each night. Just a few more steps and I will have it completed. I will post pictures after I get it back.

Gifts for Dad

So, gas prices are up so high, I was trying to think of ways to save on driving. As it is, I don't drive too much but again, when gas prices start to go up everything else seems to follow. So, knowing that Father's day is next weekend I decided to go online and see what I could order and just have delivered. I was checking out Banana Republic, JCrew, Gap, and of course the Sunday paper ads. But, how many polo shirts and shorts can one have? I was looking over at Etsy, and the feature seller is someone who makes soap. I thought about getting him something unexpected, something he would have never thought to buy himself. He did get me a few hours at the spa, which I enjoyed very much! So, the least I could do is think outside the box.

So, I have a few ideas for him, and a few unexpected which obviously I can't reveal on here.
